Clarke’s opened its doors in 1985 in beautiful downtown Evanston. It is a family owned business now operated by Yolanda Ewing. The business was purchased from Founder Jon Klein by Nicholas Tsatas, George Tsatas and his brother Tom in 1994. Located across the south campus of Northwestern University, Clarke’s has been serving Evanston for over 35 years. Clarke’s has served locals as well as, Senators, Presidents, movie stars, college students and locals from all over the world and had also the pleasure of being visited by a Princess and of course, the GOAT, Muhammad Ali. Clarke’s has served well over 10,000,000 customers over 33 years in business. In August 2019 Clarke's moved to a new location about a block away to 804 Davis and is now ready to serve a whole crop of new foodies. Pictured Left: Nick Tsatas and his wife Evelyn in 1959
Clarke’s is a family type restaurant serving American fare. Although we have specialized and are known for our breakfast, we have a variety of food ranging from hearty and healthy salads, exclusively ground burgers, specialty sandwiches, fresh homemade soups and many other homemade fresh dishes.
We refuse to compromise on quality in our restaurant and that includes our friendly and helpful staff. Pictured Right: Yolanda Ewing
